Sunday Ndamugoba is an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and Courts subordinate thereto save for Primary Court. He is an advocate of the High Court of Zanzibar and Courts subordinate thereto save for Primary and Kadhi Courts. He is also an Arbitrator with the Tanzania Institute of Arbitration and an Accredited Arbitrator and Mediator with the Tanzania Arbitration Centre under the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs. More so, he is a UK Chattered Trademark Attorney.

He is also a Local Content & Compliance Manager (ECW EACOP Project – Milembe Construction Co Ltd); he was recently elected as a Council Member for the Zanzibar Law Society, and he takes pride to have been appointed as the Chairman of the new East Africa Law Society Reginal Intellectual Property Committee.

His practice focuses on Commercial and Corporate law. He is experienced in advising on mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring, Infrastructure Projects, Project Financing, Intellectual Property and Technology, Media&Telecommunications (TMT). He has advised and represented clients on Trademarks infringements, Copyright claims, Music, film, technology and media matters. He has worked with several reputable fintech startups, innovators and ride-hailing companies that operate globally.

Sunday has attended several conferences on Intellectual Property, Fintech, Arbitration, Investments and Oil and Gas from Spain, Uganda, England, Kenya, the U.S.A to Italy and many more. He possesses a law degree from the University of Iringa in Tanzania and a Master’s degree in International Corporate and Commercial Law from Liverpool John Moores University in England. He has a postgraduate diploma in legal practice from the Law School of Tanzania. He also has a Certificate of Protocol and International Relations from the Tanzania Mozambique Centre for Foreign Relations.


1. What makes legal practice exciting for Sunday?

For him, the challenges it brings and the opportunity to help someone or a business. Sunday believes that the Law is a business and a business must grow. Making a legal practice grow with its people is exciting for him.

2. What is your philosophy of impacting the nation through the practice of the law?

Sunday’s philosophy is “we live and learn”. He believes that lawyers practice the law and, in the process, lawyers live and learn to adapt to what works in performing their practice. He strongly believes that lawyers have to be innovative in their practice and the services they offer by learning from mistakes and successes. Sunday believes the practice that has learned to adopt can serve more.

At ABC Attorneys, where he steers the wheel, they have embraced change and technology has enabled them to reach more places through a mobile application (ABC Attorneys), Cloud-based software (InteligABC), AI, Google optimization, etc. He believes that the more you reach the more the nation is impacted.

3. What is the next big thing Sunday is working on?

Sunday and his team at ABC Attorneys are expanding to two more regions of Tanzania that is Dodoma, Arusha, and Zanzibar hence enabling them to offer more. They are also setting up an AI feature on their website which they believe will revolutionize how they provide their services to clients. He understands that the government of Hon. President Samia Suluhu Hassan is doing a wonderful job opening Tanzania to investments and ABC Attorneys are taking advantage of that.

4. What does he consider the millennials greatest strength?

Concerning the millennials’ greatest strengths, Sunday notes, “Adopting to change fast and the ability to embrace technology to make it work for us. The ability to not be scared to take risks and try new things. This has been a game-changer.”

5. Who, in the profession does Sunday look up to, and what is he currently reading?

Sunday looks up to himself, although not to sound like an egoist. He takes his inspiration from himself. He believes he is his competition and he has to be better than the “Sunday” of yesterday.
