The Continent of the Future- Islam El Ghazouly

Approximately 1.3 billion people live in 54 countries in Africa, the second continent of the world in terms of population and land area, the continent is targeted by many of the greedy in its wealth and resources, which have suffered greatly from that greed and its people have paid dear price for their freedom and independence of their decision.

Despite the spread of diseases and viruses, especially AIDS and malaria, in addition to the serious violations of human rights, the high levels of illiteracy, ethnic conflicts, and the attempts of some terrorist groups to exploit some of these conditions to spread their toxins and take a number of countries of the continent to be their terrorist focal point where they come out from to achieve their criminal goals while exploiting the continent’s children in their atrocities against humanity.

However, our authentic continent remains the guarantee that will support the growth of the world’s economies soon, and it can be asserted that the Arab Republic of Egypt has relied, since the people’s revolution on 30 June 2013, on reformulating the close relationship with its mother continent and has taken rapid steps to re-discipline the Egyptian-African relations.

The great credit in this context is due to the great efforts made by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, who reformulated the scene anew to make Egypt with its African depth a strategy that Egypt has always worked to strength with a large number of African capitals in order to achieve the African Union’s agenda 2063, which set itself a goal which is “The Africa we want it to be” to build a prosperous and united continent, that is based on common values and a common future in line with the United Nations 2030 Program, and which pursues about 19 different fields between political and economic.

Furthermore, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Arab Republic of Egypt (“Egypt”) is the most receiving country for foreign investments in Africa during the year 2020, and it is the fastest-growing market for emerging companies in the Middle East and North Africa.
It is worth noting that this conclusion reached by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)was nothing but a result of the past past few years (nearly 6 years) during which Egypt worked on attracting and stimulating local and foreign investments and raising economic growth rates and local production in order to achieve comprehensive sustainable development.

As these goals could not have been achieved without the existence of an appropriate legislative environment that is conducive and supportive of them, the Egyptian state has been working hard to modernize many laws and legislations critical to economic and social life to keep pace with and achieve these goals, and not only that but also aims and seeks to keep pace with the digital technology.

We find that Egypt, during the era of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, is moving quickly towards achieving those goals, but not only at the national local, or internal levels, but also cares about achieving successes and goals on the whole African continent level. That is in order to achieve sustainable development and accelerate the pace of work to complete the major projects listed among the priorities of the African Union, the most important of which is the electrical interconnection between the countries of the African and European continents through cross-border metal towers, the water connection project between Lake Victoria in Africa and the Mediterranean waters in Alexandria, and the land connection project (The 9700 km road) starting from Alexandria to Cape Town and in the direction of the land connection, we also find the railway project linking from Alexandria to Khartoum.
