Brian M. Onyango

Brian joined The People’s Accolade Law Magazine (The PALM) in 2016 as its first Deputy Editor in Chief. Since then, he has contributed significantly to the publication’s editorial growth, serving as a columnist, Editor, and later transitioning into executive leadership. He currently holds the position of Vice President, Global Partnerships. In this role, he is responsible for developing and executing strategies to expand the magazine’s reach through strategic collaborations, managing a partnerships team, and working across departments to align partnership goals with the magazine’s broader mission.
Beyond his work with The PALM, Brian has actively pursued a wide range of editorial and scholarly initiatives. He was one of the founding publishers of the Magnifier Magazine and has contributed legal commentary to various publications for over 15 years. His interests span civil litigation, legal reform, and tax law, and he remains passionate about advancing legal knowledge across East Africa. Brian is also involved in mentoring young legal writers and researchers, supporting the development of emerging legal thought in the region.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Kisii University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Kenya School of Law, where he graduated top of his class and was awarded Best Student in Civil Litigation. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Tax Administration from the Kenya School of Revenue Administration. A Notary Public and Chartered Arbitrator (member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators), he currently serves as Senior Legal Counsel at Rubis Energy, overseeing legal matters across East and Southern Africa.
