Promise R. Iyere

Promise is an Assistant Editor at The People’s Accolade Law Magazine (The PALM). Her association with The PALM began in 2020 when her article, “The African Girl and COVID-19,” was published in the May Edition. Since then, she has seamlessly combined her passion for writing with a commitment to delivering impactful stories.

Promise is the co-author of “Developments from the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, Ondo State 2015 and Legal Proceedings: A Compilation of the Successes, Applications, and Lacunae in the ACJL vis-à-vis ACJA”. Her commitment to research and development is reflected in her participation in a data collection survey involving high school principals and teachers, focusing on decision-making strategies.

Promise graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Benin, Nigeria. She has served as a Counsel and Mediator at the Lagos State Land Use Charge Assessment Appeal Tribunal (LUCAAT) where she co-mediated and resolved 773 disputes, while contributing to public sensitisation initiatives. Rita’s commitment to legal advocacy deepened during her tenure as Legal Secretary for FIDA Nigeria (Plateau State Secretariat), where she collaborated with multi-sectoral stakeholders to address sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) against women and girls. With a professional career at Sir Charles Titiloye & Co., Ondo State, Promise focus spans Corporate Law, Dispute Resolution, Property Transactions, and Civil Litigation.
